A chapel
for a catholic family, built with my vision in architecture. The chapel
will be built on the family’s estate. In order to get to the chapel the family
has to take a walk in their garden. While taking this walk, they will be
confronted with natural elements such as trees, hills (earth) and water. Those
natural elements will be seen again in the chapel and show the relationship
between nature and death.
In my
vision in architecture, perfection with an acceptation of imperfection could be
the perfect architectural element. It has a little bit to do with Wabi Sabi
witch takes it’s foundation in the Japanese culture. “The perfect imperfection.”
In my
believe I could say that a rectangle, square and a cylinder are human made
perfections. Nature that grows the way it wants to grow is also a sort of
perfection. But what if we put those perfections together? Together they would
be imperfect.
Wouldn’t
that be the perfect imperfection?
In my
design to a chapel I tried to express my vision. In my thesis that I’m working on right now, I will increase
more information about this subject and try to define my vision and fascination
about architecture for my future designs.
